Sour Cream and Chive Broccoli Mash Recipe

This is a delicious healthy keto substitute for mashed potatoes. The creamy and distinctive tangy flavor of this low carb broccoli mash gives all the comfort of mashed potatoes.

1 pound Broccoli

3 ounces sour cream

2 tablespoons butter, unsalted

Salt – ¾ teaspoon

Ground black pepper – ½ teaspoon

2 tablespoons chives, chopped


  1. Fill a large pot half-full with water and bring to boil over medium-high heat. In the meantime, cut broccoli head into florets.
  2. Into the boiling water, add broccoli florets and cook for 3-5 minutes or until tender. Then drain into a colander and return broccoli to the pot.
  3. Into a pot, add sour cream, butter, salt and black pepper and mix using a hand blender until smooth and creamy.
  4. Stir in chives, adjust seasoning and serve immediately.
